Calgary Real Estate Board instates new President for 2009 term

The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB(R)) is pleased to welcome its new President
Bonnie Wegerich. Wegerich, a real estate licensee for more than 18 years, replaces outgoing President Ed Jensen who successfully completed his one-year presidency this week. "I look forward to serving the Board and its members in 2009. My job, along with CREB(R), is to help our more than 5500 REALTORS(R) meet the current challenges of the market head on," said Wegerich, a longtime resident of Airdrie and broker owner of Century 21 Castlewood Agencies since 1997.
"The Calgary Real Estate Board is one of the most innovative of its kind in the country," she adds. "More than ever before buyers and sellers need the expertise of a professional REALTOR(R). We are going to continue to offer cutting-edge tools to empower our members to better serve their clients." Before being elected president by the CREB(R) Board of Directors earlier this year, Wegerich served as a CREB(R) Director for the past three years. Wegerich is particularly committed to drawing attention to the good works of REALTORS(R) in our communities.
Her service with CREB(R) began when she volunteered for the CREB(R) Charitable Foundation and later became its president in 1999. In addition to the Charitable Foundation Wegerich's community involvement includes a Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Camp Horizon Easter Seals and annual support of the Airdrie Festival of Lights. Wegerich, along with the entire CREB(R) Board of Directors, was officially sworn in today at the CREB(R) Forecast Conference and Tradeshow - an annual event that draws more than a thousand Calgary REALTORS(R) and industry experts.
