Bragg Creek is a small hamlet located 30 kilometers west of Calgary where the Elbow River meets Bragg Creek.  It is nestled between the Bragg Creek Provincial Park, a very popular camping and outdoors destination,  and Tsuu T’ina Nation No. 145 Reserve.

Bragg Creek is home to many species of wildlife & birds, and attracts artists from all over who wish to capture the sheer beauty and serenity of this natural habitat.

There are many quaint little shops and some great restaurants in Bragg Creek, where you can pick up some really unique treasures and chow down on some great food.

Just down the road a bit, you can enjoy the world famous Elbow Falls.

Bragg Creek was named after Albert & John Bragg of Collingwood Nova Scotia who homestead here in 1894.

Bragg Creek has been used a setting for the television series “North of 60” and Wild Roses in 1990.  Several movies were also produced here, such as Storm (‘87), Killer Image (‘92) and Betrayed (‘88).

To the Northeast of Bragg Creek is the Redwood Meadows Subdivision and 18 hole  Golf Course. Amenities in the popular community include a developed athletic field, baseball diamond, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball court, outdoor skating rink, disc golf course, as well as a community hall – Redwood House.

There are many beautiful executive homes in the Bragg Creek area, which are situated on large lots.  The area is desirable to the rich & famous since it offers such beauty and majesty not found elsewhere, and is relatively easy to access.

Well let me tell you that life in the country can be a dream.   Many Calgarians are looking to sell of their “homesteads” in the big city and head outside of the city limits to reclaim their lives and enjoy their much deserved country retreats.  There are many small acreages for sale, available for qualified buyers who are looking for exactly that.  The pricing on these acreages for sale are very reasonable for the most part.  These acreages can really stand up to those city lots, and often have so much more to offer.

Think of the rolling hills, gently blowing breezes blowing wisps of fresh mountain air all around you.  The stillness and quietness can be mesmerizing.  What a great place to raise a family.  Away from the hustle and bustle of the big city with all its distractions.  Your family will really appreciate having you around to spend quality time with them once again, out on that country acreage.

There are some things one ought to consider when purchasing an acreage for sale. Some of these considerations will be well pressure, rate of flow, septic tanks and septic fields.  Having a chemical analysis done is a sure way to ensure the water is safe for your precious family to drink.  What about electrical, road allowances, utility right-of-ways etc.  While the thought of purchasing an acreage for sale can certainly be attractive, there are many things which need to be looked into.  Only a REALTOR® who is properly trained with experience in dealing with acreages for sale can offer you the protection that you need.
