Tarjan Pointe Calgary

Tarjan Pointe is located at 1111 6th Ave SW,  in the  West End of Downtown Calgary. directly across from The Marquis, just East of Discovery Pointe, North of West Pointe Plaza and West of the Axxis.  It is a very high density zone very nearby the Bow River and Bike paths, with excellent access to Calgary Transit and the C-Train.  It was built in 2005 and is registered on Condominium Plan 0511941. Tarjan Pointe is a project of formidable scale as you can see and has almost an unlimited number of different views and floor plans.  Tarjan Pointe was the brain-child of Point of View Developments.   It is one of the few buildings in the city which include heat, water and electricity in the condo fees.

There are 285 living units in Tarjan Pointe, on 20 floors and 302 parking stalls, along with a dozen or so commercial spaces on the main floor. Most of the condos on the 3rd floor have very large balconies, and there is an promenade on the second floor.  Tarjan Pointe offers minimal concierge services on weekdays from 10 until 6 with the exception of statutory holidays.  There are three, 1200 K capacity ThyssenKrupp, double-entry  elevators in Tarjan Pointe, whisking the predominantly youthful but upwardly-mobile unit holders to their destination.  This location is incredible and close to if not on the LRT free zone. It’s also not too far from SAIT via 10th Street.

There are approximately 302 heated, underground Parking Stalls in Tarjan Pointe, which are separated from the public parking area by way of electronic security gate. Entrance to Tarjan Pointe parking is from the back laneway between 10th and 11th streets.  There are 20 underground visitor parking stalls, not including the one underground, handicap visitor parking stall.

The West Pointe Plaza High-rise Condominium is located in Calgary’s West-End in Downtown Calgary.   The address for West Pointe Plaza is 683 10th Street SW, Calgary, T2P 5G3.  It is right off the 7th Avenue C-Train route, so you can’t beat that for easy access. there are a number of retail establishments on the main floor.  D&A Rubber Stamps, Alterations by Renee and Kona on the Korner to name a few. West Pointe Plaza was built in 2001, designed by Stantec Architecture Ltd. and developed by Point of View Developments.

The entrance is set back a bit so it is barely noticeable in this densely populated, relatively obscure little corner of our city.  West Pointe Plaza is nestled amongst the Axxis condo on the East, Tarjan Pointe on the North and Discovery Pointe on the Northwest, and Westmount Place on the South, it is barely visible, with no identifiable markings except the address – “683” except if you happen to glance upward at the address.  It was a very cold and blusterous day when these photos were taken.

West Pointe Plaza Calgary West Pointe Plaza was constructed in 2001 and is twenty-one stories high. The two  Penthouse Units on the 21st floors and the larger suites on the 19th and 20th Floors have spectacular views from the spectacular and recognizable  “crown” which  can be seen in the photo below. Most of the West facing units have a great view of the Bow River and Rocky Mountains.

There are two “Richard” wood-finished elevators in the West Pointe Plaza.   There is a good selection of floor plans and sizes, with most leaning toward a more traditional layout, which is kind of nice to see.   Visitors of West Point Plaza are first welcomed to a pleasing and beautiful water feature and then directed to the elevators in behind it.

There are 126 Underground, heated parking stalls on 10 levels in West Pointe Plaza, with 9 of these on level P1 being visitor stalls.  Entry to the parkade is via the alley between 6th and 7th Avenues SW. A small portion of these are assigned to the commercial units.

I have a lot of favourite condos in Calgary.  There are so many nice ones and they all have good features.  The Marquis is kind of special for several reasons.   It is of the furthest West condos in Calgary’s West End District. and While falling in the shade of Discovery Pointe and Tarjan Pointe especially in the winter months when the sun is lower on the horizon, The Marquis has some priceless unobstructed views of the Bow River on the North.  The Marquis was commissioned by Bosa Development Corporation and constructed in 2001.

The Marquis is located at 1108 6th Avenue SW, Calgary, AB, between 5th and 6th Avenues and 10th and  11th Streets SW.   The Marquis is a seventeen storey high-rise condominium which you may have overlooked because it is sort of hidden away.  There is a large turn-about for picking up, and dropping off unit holders, or for making deliveries.  There are 217 living units in The Marquis.  Most are well laid out, and very spacious with interesting and functional floor plans.  There are a number of units on the West side (See photo) with unobstructed view of the mountains and massive decks.

The Marquis has an oversupply of yard and gardens, which is almost always meticulously  manicured.  There is a Gazebo on the North side which may be used as a private area, picnics or social gatherings.  There is lots of greenery all around.

Nearby there are several fine retail services such as Maria’s Fine Wines & Spirits, Jewellery Designs by Manuel, a convenience store, Upper Deck Public House and Restaurant and the popular Anju Restaurant.  There is incredible access to Bow Trail Westbound and 5th Avenue Eastbound.
