The Executive Estates condo was built in 1971, and is located at 1123 13th Ave SW, Calgary in the community of Connaught right behind the Connaught SchoolExecutive Estates is comprised of 52 mostly one and two bedroom suites, many of which are two story.  The windows are notably sizable and therefore the units tend to be quite bright and cheerful.   Executive Estates is an apartment conversion which completed in 2006.  It is registered on Condominium Plan 8811491.

There is quite a lot going on here at Executive Estates, starting with the impressive staircase leading up to the building.  There is ample three-hour parking out front on weekends, which could become scarce during the week due to its close proximity to downtown Calgary. The balconies in Executive Estates are protected and large, with no gas outlets.

The Executive Estates Lobby is modern and clean.   There is a small seating area where your guests can make themselves comfortable.  The building is surprisingly quiet, for the most part.

The 52 living units in Executive Estates are serviced by two Otis, 12 person capacity elevators, which while old, function amazingly well and for this size of building is all that is required. The Mailboxes are around to the left.  Many of the common areas such as that have motion sensing light switches to conserve costs.

The hallways in Executive Estates are clean, quite and bright, and are finished in a retro-style mirrored pattern.   There is a garbage chute conveniently located nearby the elevator.

While most of the units appear to have connections for  in-suite laundry, some unit-holders may prefer to utilize the commercial grade coin operated washers and dryers in the basement.  The Laundry Room is one of the more cozy ones that I have run into, and it’s a great way to meet your neighbours over a game of cards or coffee!

The Riverside Quays Phase I condo in Inglewood could quite possibly be one of Calgary’s yet to be discovered most thriving condominium complexes.  Riverside Quays Phase I is located at 35 Inglewood Park SE, Calgary, which is very near Pearce Estate Park, the Bow River and Blackfoot Trail SE in the ever-popular community of Inglewood.

The gym (I call it that because it pretty much dwarfs anything else I’ve seen. It’s enormous) comes equipped with an endless supply of modern weight and fitness training equipment.  When you tire out, just take a break in the modern and spacious Quay’s Bistro (Yet to open).  All areas are accessible to handicapped persons by way of a functional and state of the art lift.  As one might expect, there is also a his and hers shower and steam facility fit for a king.  The change rooms each have three private showers and sinks.

The Five West High-rise Luxury Condominium towers were developed by La Caille, who are well known for their quality in workmanship and attention to detail.  They consist of two towers.  Tower One is located at 920 5th Avenue SW, Calgary and Tower Two is located next door on the East at 910 5th Avenue SW, Calgary.  They can be recognized by their distinctive pointed blue spires which can be seen for miles.

Parking in the Five West Phase I and Phase II Towers is titled, and separate for each building.   There is a generous amount of indoor parking in each tower.  I counted 16 in the West Tower, two of which were handicapped stalls.

The lower floors of each of the towers houses some commercial spaces, and on the ground floor there is some convenient retail shops.  At the time of this writing, many of the commercial spaces are still vacant, while the occupied commercial units currently house businesses such as the Lasani Restaurant and Catering company and the Pink Lime Styling Salon and Spa.

The Five West Hi-rise Condo on 5th Avenue is an impressive building with great ambiance.  It has some beautiful floor plans and incredible views with lots of windows in most of the living units.
